Meet the Founder
Nusrat Tazkia
Assalamualaykum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu! I'm Nusrat Tazkia, the founder and educator behind The MISBAH Approach.

I hold a BSc in Biomedical Science and an MSc in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Ottawa, where my research focused on computational biology and bioinformatics. My scientific background has given me a deep appreciation for inquiry, critical thinking, and the beauty of Allah's creation — which I now bring into my teaching.

Alongside my scientific education, I've pursued over 6 years of Islamic learning. I completed a 2-year Islamic Studies program and continue to deepen my knowledge through ongoing studies in Quran, Arabic, and Islamic sciences. This dual background allows me to seamlessly integrate Islamic values with academic excellence.

I have extensive experience working with children and youth. I've taught in classroom settings, tutored students in STEM subjects, led weekly halaqas, and designed educational programming for youth across Canada. My approach is warm, personalized, and rooted in the belief that every child deserves to be known, valued, and challenged.

Fluent in English, French, and Bengali, I'm committed to creating an inclusive, nurturing environment where children can grow intellectually, spiritually, and emotionally — all while building a strong foundation in their Islamic identity.
Why I Started This
What inspired me was seeing a gap in our community — there are Islamic schools and there are mainstream schools, but very few that truly integrate both in a meaningful, holistic way.
I wanted to create something that nurtures the whole child: mind, heart, and soul. My background in science and Islamic studies showed me that these two worlds don't have to be separate — they complement each other beautifully.
I believe education should not just fill a child's mind with facts, but also strengthen their connection to Allah and His creation. That's why I started The MISBAH Approach — to offer a balanced, personalized education where Islamic values are at the core, and academic excellence is pursued with purpose.

To raise a generation of lifelong learners who are confident in their Islamic identity, excel academically, and contribute positively to their communities — all while maintaining a deep connection to Allah.
